Texas Pecan Pie

11/2 pecan halves 1 t. vanilla
1 unbaked 9-in. pie shell 1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 T. butter, softened 1 T. all purpose flour
1 cup dark corn syrup  


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange pecans in pie shell, set aside. Beat eggs until light, add butter, corn syrup and vanilla. Stir until blended. Combine sugar and flour; blend into egg mixture. Pour into pie shell, let stand until pecans rise to the surface. Bake 45 minutes or until done.
