What Is Intuition?

Have you ever just known you were not suppose to do something when you did it or did you just feel that it wasn't right at the time you made that decision? All of us have experienced the above intuition and continue to experience such happenings every day. Intuition is something that all of us use everyday in the workplace, at home with our family and at play with our children or at social gatherings. We use it and don't even realize it or most of us certainly don't recognize or acknowledge that we are using it. We are all born with intuitive skills and with practice these skills can be immensely enhanced.

What exactly is intuition? This word encompasses all of the psychic abilities. We all acknowledge that we have five physical senses, seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting. We also have four psychic senses that have focal points on our bodies that can increase our extrasensory abilities. Once you know the location of the psychic reception areas and how to use them, you will be able to access your four psychic senses on command. In effect, you will be doubling the amount of information you receive about people, places, and events because you will be using nine senses, five physical and four psychic. Think of what this means in our everyday lives!

All our senses, physical and psychic, function in part by receiving and responding to some form of energy. The right and freedom to develop your psychic talents and to apply them to your daily life has been suppressed for thousands of years. Superstition, dogma and ridicule have combined to shroud intuition in a veil of fear, mystery and misunderstanding. It is a myth that ESP is limited to a few "psychics" and as a consequence has limited our use of our four psychic senses.

PSYCHIC FEELING is the first of the psychic senses and is most closely associated with our physical being. We usually feel in the area of the body called the solar plexus located from the top of the diaphragm to just below the navel. This is where we get "gut" feelings. They can be accompanied by vague discomfort to actual physical feelings of pain or nausea. Just by concentrating on this area of the body and opening up to receptive energy can greatly increase your ability to recognize a message from your psychic feelings. This is the most natural of the psychic senses and the easiest of the senses to develop. People high in psychic feeling are the most sensitive to the feelings of others and are the best at sensing subtle signals. The weakness associated with psychic feeling is the ability to pick up other people's feelings, good or bad and it is the hardest psychic sense to turn off so you are susceptible to picking up others negativity.

PSYCHIC KNOWING is the most future oriented of the four psychic senses. This has also been called the gift of prophecy. People who experience flashes of insight or are able to say "I know" long before a conversation is finished are high in psychic knowing. These people are excellent anticipators of problems or difficulties in the office and instinctively know the needs of family members and co-workers. Their flashes of insight are quick and fleeting. This is the hardest of the psychic senses to trust initially because it doesn't come with any supporting information at the time. Sometimes the information is picked up far in advance and the impressions can be hard to capture. These people are the best at not worrying because they just know how something is going to turn out. This sense is best developed by concentrating on the top of your head, or the crown chakra area, and letting the energetic frequencies flow in. Picture the energy flowing in from the universe and direct your attention upward. More and more rapid, out of the blue, insights will come to you as this sense is developed.

PSYCHIC VISION is usually referred to as clairvoyance, which means "clear seeing", since it allows you to see clearly beyond the reach of your eyes. Clairvoyance expresses itself as a picture, image, or visual impression. These visions are usually received through dreams, meditation or through a visual premonition. All of us have had experiences with clairvoyance, such as the time a sudden mental image of a friend appeared to you, and then you got a phone call from that person. Every time you dream or daydream, you receive subtle mental images. Psychic vision is like having an internal television screen that displays information and pictures not available to your physical eyes. The location of psychic vision is in the area of the forehead or the third-eye region. Focusing in the forehead region is the best way to activate the third eye. Shift your attention to this region and open yourself up to the energetic frequencies flowing in. As a result, you will start paying more attention to your psychic vision instead of looking only through the windows of your physical eyes. People with a developed sense of psychic vision can visualize situations, problems, and solutions in their mind and have an excellent sense of direction. They can also be rigid and inflexible because they frequently will not act until they have the whole picture in their mind.

PSYCHIC HEARING involves the reception of extrasensory signals as a word, a sound, or some form of language. This psychic ability is also called clairaudience and you get psychic impressions with an inner hearing, often similar to what you hear in your mind when you talk to yourself. People with a strong sense of psychic hearing are very analytical because they want to hear and understand to be sure. With their analytical nature, however, they can easily talk themselves out of their ability. Psychic hearing involves listening to that little voice within and trusting it. To tap into your psychic hearing ability, you need to direct your attention to right above the ears. Focusing at ear level seems to inhibit psychic hearing. Which side you focus on does not matter. Knowing how to shift your attention above ear level and how to focus your awareness inward are the skills that make clairaudience accessible to you.

Remember, the only limitations on your psychic abilities are the ones you allow. Your true nature is to be unlimited. The more your search, the more you will find.
