Solar Eclipses are known for their ominous meaning throughout history. Many astrologers make outlandish predictions regarding these eclipses, from personal, cultural and national significance to historical implications. Eclipse cycles hold many different meanings, depending on one's own natal disposition and the individual's way of compensating and coping with 'events' of this nature. I am going to look at the solar eclipse occurring at 10 degrees of Leo on the 1st of August at approximately 5:13 AM CDT. This eclipse will also come within conjunction to the Pluto position of those born between 1942 and 1949, depending on retrograde motions. The planet and house in which the eclipse occurs are very important in determining the outcome of this eclipse cycle. On a national level, the eclipse cycle has to do with the solar chart of the USA and finances, borrowing power and investments. You can see how this is being played out during this time. The days preceding the eclipse and those weeks after the eclipse are of relative importance.

I will go through each of the signs and give the possible situations, that may be of a transformative nature to each of the signs. I tend not to get negative regarding eclipses, because, whatever happens is to transform the existing condition of the individual, nation, etc. It is the natural cycle of life and we need to pay attention to our own individual natures. Many of us are too busy for that, so this might be an abrupt 'shock' to the system. So let's go through the signs beginning with Aries and ending with Pisces. If you know your natal chart, then you can find the house and planets that conjunct this eclipse and get more information in that regard. Remember this is also a new moon in Leo as the eclipse occurs. If you know your ascendant and moon, then read all three.

Aries --- This eclipse cycle effects the latter part of the fourth house going into the fifth house. It means that there is unfinished business that needs to be dealt with regarding home or real estate and will effect the enjoyment of any profit coming to the individual such as fifth house represents. It might allow more delightful expression of love shown to one's children or with those with whom one is romantically inclined. It will give the Aries a chance to lighten up and enjoy life a bit more, providing needed funds to do so.

Taurus --- The Leo eclipse effects the 3rd house going into the 4th house and so will be about transforming the way one communicates and gets along with people one sees everyday and those who live in one's environment. It is important for the Taurus to get a handle on either investing in home and real estate or understanding the whole world of financing. It is also time to keep one's car in shape and think about scaling down in transportation. These things will be a top priority for Taurus in the next upcoming weeks. There might also be a need to reconnect with a sibling that has been difficult of late.

Gemini --- This early degree eclipse will be going from the 2nd house of the Gemini solar chart to the 3rd house and will definitely make the Gemini focus on money and how he/she is investing in his/her future. Gemini needs to reassess the values and the actual monies that he/she is bringing in to the monthly cash flow. It might be necessary for the Gemini to venture into a more solid future and finding his/her real home, moving into a home and/or family setting.

Cancer --- The eclipse is moving from the 1st house into the 2nd house in the Cancer Solar chart. Many issues need to be focused on regarding investments and how the Cancer focuses attention. There have been some health problems that need to be addressed and I am sure that you have attended to those. If you haven't, get it over with so you can focus on a new field of endeavor in order to make more money in a more enlightened career move.

Leo --- This solar eclipse is in Leo as well as the lunar eclipse on August 16th so you will see immediate results of whatever you put into motion in the area of 12th house moving into 1st house. Leo's have had to face their own darkest fears and have had to look at how they keep sabotaging their health and relationships with intimate others. They should be starting a regimen that allows for discipline in health, diet and addictions. Overdoing anything now will definitely punish the Leo in a way that he/she will remember forever.

Virgo --- The eclipse moves from the 11th to the 12th house and will get the Virgo's attention regarding routine and self-critical behaviors that have been to no avail. The Virgo must clear out all distractions and focus on self in a good way, an understanding and nurturing environment is needed at this time. Virgo's give their time and energy away, in the name of work and efficiency until they wear themselves out. It is time to rest, to isolate away from the maddening crowd and only stick to those friends and loved ones who give energy, not take energy.

Libra --- The Leo eclipse is moving from the 10th to 11th solar houses of the Libran. This will cause the Libra to look at how he/she has been struggling to build career and reputation only to find that now goals and wishes need to be reassessed. Are the two congruent? Career and future goals and wishes. There is a struggle going on inside of the Libra as to how rigidly one thinks and how one is willing to be flexible. This can be seen in the aches and pains in the joints where rigidity has set in and now one has to find a way to be more flexible.

Scorpio --- The Leo eclipse is moving from the 9th to the 10th solar houses and will be changing the way the Scorpio interfaces with his/her career. There will be more of a need to teach and train than ever before. The striving for higher spiritual goals and ancient knowledge may be the focus of the Scorpio during these times. He/She will also find more contentment and satisfaction with the chosen career and be more assured that he/she is on the right path during this transformational time. Scorpios are fixed signs and sometimes it takes something like an eclipse to force change.

Sagittarius --- The Leo eclipse is moving from the 8th into the 9th house in this sign's solar chart. That means that true transformation is occurring at the very fundamental level of the psyche. This will bring about the Sagittarians ability to be transformative as well as transformed. Money and investments need to be looked at carefully and be aligned with the amount of energy one is putting forth in one's career. Teaching, training, traveling and furthering the message through writing, lecturing or whatever means gets over to the most people. I think the Sagittarians need to pay attention to their waking dreams and go on 'real journeys' that enable them to spread the 'word'.

Capricorn --- The Leo eclipse will move from the 7th to 8th house in this sign's solar chart. The focus will be on relationships to money and investments and aligning partnerships, both business and significant others, to one's goals and aspirations. There needs to be a reassessment of how one sees what one has invested in all of these years. Is it really paying off? Now is the time to find a way of capitalizing on any new monies coming in. The partner has to be consulted at all times in this matter as well, or there will be a split in intention and one's reality.

Aquarius --- The Leo eclipse definitely effects the Aquarian's partnerships and routine in a way that might be disturbing if there is no flexibility in each. The Aquarian may be hanging on to something or someone that needs to be released. Health has been an issue because of the neglect and the refusal of the Aquarian to discipline oneself in a routine that is beneficial both for health and relationships. This might be a hard eclipse facing the Aquarius and in the next two weeks, at the time of the lunar eclipse, he/she will see the results, positive or negative?

Pisces --- The Leo eclipse will be moving from the 5th to the 6th house of Pisces solar chart. It will bring up issues that have been buried in regards to one's children and one's work space. The Pisces needs to look at the 'dreamworld' he/she builds around his/her idealism in these matters and find a way of facing reality, maybe changing the place one works, changing the routine and finding some joy out of life. There will be an event or confrontation that will spur the Pisces on to action.
