AstroForecast August 2005

by Lance Rodriguez

All times Central Time Zone

August begins with the majestic Sun traveling through its own ruled sign of Leo. This is the height of summer and strong identification with creativity, confidence, risk-taking, authority, playfulness, entertainment, recreation, and children is emphasized with this Solar passage in regal Leo. Negative expressions of Leo are arrogance, false pride, melodrama, stubbornness, dictatorial and authoritarian behaviors, boastfulness and self-absorption. The angel of the month of August is Hamaliel and the Leo angel is Verchiel.

Monday the 1st is an adjustment aspect involving the Sun with Uranus that can symbolize that sometimes in life the goofiest, the quirkiest and the darndest things happen and are introduced with an element of surprise that catches everyone off guard. Expect the unexpected and be flexible enough to make adjustments accordingly.

Tuesday the 2nd is an opposition aspect involving Mercury with Neptune. Due to the current retrograde of Mercury, this aspect was earlier seen last July 13, 2005 and will repeat again, due to direct motion later on at the end of this current month on August 26th. These two planets were conjunct one another last February 8, 2005 so now is the clarification and definition period of what was “seeded” last February. This date’s opposition is oriented to children, mothers, issues surrounding illegal substances, values differences and perhaps psychological depression.

Thursday the 4th at 10:05pm is the annual Leo New Moon that symbolizes the new beginnings/new initiatives of this lunar phase. Launch new orientations to accessing inner radiance and illumination, confidence to take on new risks and gambles, creativity, vitality, expressing joy, having fun with past times and hobbies, recreation and vacation, romance (it really is a state-of-mind that the individual can cultivate by romancing life daily as life will in turn romance the individual with greater passion for life), and children as the repository of future mankind. Angel Neciel is associated with this Leo lunation. Career matters and spiritual longings are in an interplay for adjustment on many levels. The surrender of false hopes and false expectations is also heightened. Legal issues involving bankruptcy, child support as well as military appropriations are also important. Keywords associated with this Leo lunation are: Against all limitations and restrictions the individual soul conquers these obstacles and focuses the individual to personal joy, creativity and confidence. This great focus allows the individual to dream new aspirations for the future. Old fears crumble before this new dawn of the individual and the individual is ready to engage a healthy risk and gamble for life.

This same day is the Apogee Moon (farthest distance from the Earth) that symbolizes the ability to cultivate objectivity and impartiality with emotions/feelings. This is the greatest distance of the Moon to Earth for the entire year so this Leo New Moon could be titled a “Super Dark Moon”. Emotions and feelings can take sudden turns that can be like ricocheting bullets in a wild gunfight.

The Astro*Carto*Graphy Map of this Leo lunation sensitizes the following geographical United States areas: Nome, Barrow and Fairbanks Alaska, Hawaii, Caribou and Bangor Maine, Charleston West Virginia, Winston-Salem North Carolina, Charleston South Carolina, the Panhandle, Far West Texas, Fort Worth and San Antonio Texas, Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Wichita and Dodge City Kansas, Grand Island Nebraska, Pierre South Dakota, Bismarck and Fargo North Dakota, Seattle and Spokane Washington, Eugene and Pendleton Oregon, Boise Idaho, Butte, Helena and Billings Montana, Winnemucca, Reno and Carson City Nevada, San Juan Puerto Rico as well as Sacramento, San Francisco, Bakersfield and Los Angeles California.

Friday the 5th is a busy celestial day with the following aspects. First is a harmonious contact of Mercury with Jupiter that can represent convivial relations at work, a “whistle while we work” orientation as well as efforts can be rewarding when a big picture viewpoint is combined with the smallest of details.

The second aspect is that of an adjustment of Venus with Neptune that can symbolize negative criticism confronting idealistic “rose-tinted glasses” viewpoints about life especially involving relationships and/or financial issues.

The last aspect of this day is the conjunction of the Sun with Mercury that symbolizes the heart and mind coming together to be creative, confident and fun loving.

Saturday the 6th is a harmonious contact of the Sun with Jupiter that can symbolize generosity, benevolence, tolerance and the identification of expansive projects to be promoted. Children with expansive, educational aspirations do very well with contacts with individuals in positions of power and authority.

Monday the 8th is the annual opposition of the Sun with Neptune. These two planets were last conjunct one another earlier this year on February 3, 2005 so these two dates can correspond to one another. Here is a quote from the February AstroForecast 2005 about that conjunction: “This day encourages creative undertakings that harvest healthy daydreaming, inspirational imagination and escape from the daily grind to more transcendent and otherworldly realms.” This date in August is meant to clarify and define what the February “seeding” period was all about.

Tuesday the 9th is the monthly declinational shift of the Moon that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. Some individuals may tend to withdraw and/or withhold themselves from other people due to issues involving resentments, regrets and/or remorse.

Wednesday the 10th is an inharmonious aspect of Venus with Pluto that can symbolize major issues erupting to the surface in regards to financial affairs, relationships, values differences, psychological devaluation, manipulation, strong negative judgment, excessive criticism and hypocrisy.

Thursday the 11th is the Pre-Shadow Point of Mars, which is the degree position that Mars attains on this August date that is also the same degree position that Mars will be at when it is station direct on December 9, 2005 so these two dates can correspond to one another. Issues on this August date can ignite the following areas: the martyr/victim syndrome, unrealistic expectations, verbal disagreements that can be explosive, parental blowups, as well as conflicts with superiors.

Friday the 12th is an adjustment aspect between Mercury and Uranus that can indicate mental exhaustion, mental anxiety as well as breakdowns in communications that can experience cruelty in all forms being expressed. How can a better novel approach and novel solutions be applied to old problems that have become stubborn and monotonous?

Saturday the 13th is an inharmonious contact of Mercury with Mars that can erupt with major disputes, shouting matches, tense conflicts as well as overly aggressive and overly assertive behaviors that are too selfish. The “it’s my way or the highway” approach and/or the “I’m the ruler of this roost” syndrome can be annoying, frustrating and quite violating. The proverbial “count to ten” and/or “bite the lip” before lashing out indiscriminately may have to be observed. The “loose cannon” individuals can literally create mayhem and havoc.

Sunday the 14th witnesses two harmonious aspects with the first one being between Mars and Uranus that is excellent for individuals who are ready for new initiatives to actualize new priorities quickly. The harmony of teamwork with independence and autonomy being afforded to individuals do well.

The second harmonious aspect involves the Sun with Pluto that symbolizes the strong identification of true sharing, merging, bonding and the creation of ties of intimacy. Those in power support investigations and research. Leaders do well with foreign ties.

Monday the 15th at 10:49pm is the station direct of Mercury thus ending the previous three-week retrogradation that may have introduced mayhem, mishaps or miscommunications with schedules, transportation, deliveries, computers, purchases and/or documents. Mercury has now returned back to the degree position it held on July 4, 2005, which was its Pre-Shadow Point. Here is a quote from the July 2005 AstroForecast about this degree position: “This Pre-Shadow Point of Mercury is associated with international diplomacy, the judicial branch of government, exports/imports, international trade and commerce as well as universities and colleges. Keywords associated with this degree position of Mercury are: The divine breath is now infusing those individuals with the creative force to propel humanity into a new level of manifestation, privately and publicly. Remember that this divine breath is to imbue you with the gift of being quintessentially yourself and abound in it. The drawback is the willful or unintelligent distortion of reality. Suffering and self-knowledge. All comes easy; nothing comes easy - the riddle of destiny.”

Tuesday the 16th at 10:05pm is the entrance of Venus into her own ruled sign of Libra for the next 28 days emphasizing balance in all relationships, consensus building, fairness, justice, equal give and take, diplomacy and mediation. Socialization processes are on the increase. Grace and aesthetic qualities improve.

This same day is the harmonious contact of Venus with Chiron that can symbolize those partners who wish to bridge gaps by the acquisition of new viewpoints, new perspectives, new attitudes and new philosophies of life. Fresh alternatives can emerge in regards to the financial picture.

Wednesday the 17th is the third and final harmonious contact of Jupiter with Neptune that has been previously witnessed last March 14, 2005 as well as last November 29, 2004. Here is a quote from the November AstroForecast 2004 about this aspect: “the harmonious contact of Jupiter with Neptune can symbolize spiritual idealism and inspiration, visionary experiences that promote tolerance as well as a general uplifting mood that things will soon improve. A grassroots spiritual organization can healthily grow now. Exploration and discovery can lead to technological breakthroughs that have a healthy environmental impact.”

Thursday the 18th is the declinational shift of Venus that is symbolic of shifts involving partners, financial markets and values. Minor annoyances and irritations involving pet peeves can suddenly upset the apple cart with any of these areas involving this Venusian declinational shift.

Friday the 19th at 12:53pm is the annual Aquarius Full Moon that symbolizes the completion/surrender/let go phase of the Moon. Issues involving mental cruelty or perversity, extreme emotional detachment, rebelliousness, Teflon behaviors (nothing-will-stick-to- me!) and aloofness are emphasized for surrender. Let go of stubbornness, ineffective rebelliousness, anti-social behaviors and the out-in-left-field syndromes. Tagriel is this lunation’s celestial angel to invoke for assistance. How to deal with any chaos, confusion, undermining behaviors with a healthy dose of diverse opinions and objective input is what will be defined and clarified. Keywords for this Aquarius lunation are: Realize the collective soul has called on you, the individual, to be present in the here and now to fulfill your own personal destiny as well as contribute your best to society. Personal and collective priorities intermingle with one another so that all may benefit. There are no sacrifices except for the up stepping of evolution, responsibility and development.

Besides a Full Moon on this day there is also a Perigee Moon (closest approach of the Moon to Earth) that symbolizes strong intense emotions that can come easily to the conscious surface. Due to this Perigee Moon this Aquarius Full Moon could be called a “Super Full Moon”! There will be a definite howling at the Moon this evening. Issues can arise involving siblings, wives, as well as mothers who can become very stubborn and resistant to change.

The following geographical areas around the United States can be sensitized: Barrow, Fairbanks and Anchorage Alaska, Pensacola Florida, Jackson, Tuscaloosa and Florence Alabama, New Orleans Louisiana, Columbia and Tupelo Mississippi, Nashville Tennessee, Bowling Green Kentucky, Indianapolis Indiana, Chicago Illinois, Milwaukee and Green Bay Wisconsin, Marquette, Bay City, Saginaw and Lansing Michigan, Albany and New York City New York, Burlington Vermont, as well as Nags Head and Cape Hatteras North Carolina.

Saturday the 20th is a harmonious contact of Venus with Saturn that is excellent for disciplined approaches to finances, relationships and values. Solid and stable compromises can emerge as long as efforts are forthrightly utilized. Workaholic tendencies by some individuals can take a back seat to more pleasant endeavors.

Sunday the 21st is an adjustment aspect between the Sun and Chiron that can symbolize children making fresh alternative approaches to fathers especially rewarding. Orthodox doctrinal positions can disenfranchise certain individuals.

This same Sunday is the second of the month declinational shift of the Moon that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. Individuals can give strong attention to a sister or aunt as well as any isolationist tendencies that may emerge by anyone.

Monday the 22nd at 7:45pm is the annual ingress of the majestic Sun into the sign of meticulous Virgo launching a 30-day journey in this zodiac sign that symbolizes work, health, improvement, quality of life themes, fastidiousness, hygiene, service, and changes that improve day-to-day life. Negative associations Virgo can get caught up in are criticism, perfectionism, nagging, browbeating, hypochondriac behaviors, extreme micro-management, faultfinding, and hairsplitting. The angel associated with Virgo is Hamaliel.

Wednesday the 24th is an adjustment aspect involving Venus with Uranus that can symbolize hair trigger reactions to surprising behaviors especially binge shopping and/or binge eating issues. The mixing of incompatible individuals that have different emotional approaches can create roller coaster spins and turns. No one wants to hurt or harm one another yet it is the very thing that people wind up doing unconsciously. Ugh!

Thursday the 25th is a repeat inharmonious aspect of Mercury with Mars due to Mercury’s now forward motion. Please refer to the paragraph of Saturday August 13th of this month’s AstroForecast to read this day’s interpretation.

Friday the 26th is another repeat opposition aspect of Mercury with Neptune due to Mercury’s now forward motion. Please refer to the paragraph of Tuesday August 2nd of this month’s AstroForecast to read this day’s interpretation.

Sunday the 28th is an inharmonious aspect between Mars and Neptune that can symbolize aggressive individuals that can deceive, commit fraud and perpetrate violence/violation to individuals at a disadvantage in life. The trampling of human rights can be especially egregious. Accidents/disasters involving boating, naval and/or maritime activities can emerge. Spiritual and/or religious devaluation can be outrageous.

This same Sunday is a repeat harmonious aspect of Mercury with Jupiter due to Mercury’s now forward motion. Please refer to the paragraph of Friday August 5th of this month’s AstroForecast to read this day’s interpretation.

Monday the 29th is the Post-Shadow Point of Mercury, which is the degree position that Mercury went retrograde on last July 22, 2005. Here is a brief quote from the July 2005 AstroForecast about this degree position: “The following themes/issues are associated with this retrograde of Mercury: political martyrdom, scandals, secrecy, psychological insights, breaches of commitments, healthy focus on education, international cooperation as well as adoption agencies. This is also a critical degree position of this station of Mercury that can represent importance, relevance and significance. Keywords for this retrograde of Mercury are: Some individuals confront their own self-polarization and verify their own dysfunctional complicity. An enormous honesty ensues and fills the individual with hope and elation. The sun shines eternal overhead and saintly ways are observed.” Mercury will now move forward into new degrees until its next retrogradation in mid-November 2005.

Tuesday the 30th is a day of a couple of harmonious planetary aspects. The first one involves Venus with Neptune that symbolizes spiritual balance for highly attuned partnerships. Artistic inclinations provide comfort, soothing the emotions as well as uplifting the spirit. Charity and compassion are well expressed.

The next harmonious aspect is that of Mercury with Pluto that can symbolize deep and profound communications that get to the core of any matter. Emerging investigative facts, documents and communiqués are extremely relevant and eye opening. International markets and international mergers and acquisitions will be important to observe.

Wednesday the 31st witnesses the annual opposition of the Sun with Uranus that can symbolize executives, leaders and individuals in positions of power and authority suddenly making announcements and/or decrees that can be surprising and disconcerting. An element of chaos, rebellion and upheaval can surround these individuals. These two planets were last conjunct one another last February 25, 2005 so these two dates can correspond to one another. They are now in their definition and clarification time period since their last “seeding” of February. Here is a quote from the February AstroForecast 2005 about this conjunction of the Sun and Uranus: “This conjunction is symbolic of how any individual can identify with a consciousness or awareness of true freedom and liberation. Old ruts, routines and monotony implode so new, more vibrant expressions take hold so the individual experiences a greater sense of uniqueness and originality. Stodgier individuals recoil in shock or surprise to these new energies. A paradoxical quote by Erich Fromm describes well this conjunction: “Any act of disobedience, as any act of freedom, is the beginning of reason”.

"People are like stained glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when
The darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light."

–Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow
will be our doubts of today."

–Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice;
it is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved."

–William Jennings Bryan

"Pull the string, and it will follow
wherever you wish. Push it, and it will go nowhere at all."

–Dwight D. Eisenhower

"The ornament of a man is his nature;
the ornament of nature is virtue;
the ornament of virtue is knowledge;
the ornament of knowledge is forgiveness."

–Jainist Tenet
