AstroForecast May 2004

by Lance Rodriguez

All times Central Time Zone

May begins with the regal Sun traveling in the earthy and physical sign of Taurus. Themes to identify with will be values, patience, sensuality, finances, goal setting that brings about tangible results, material goods and possessions, as well as practical determination. Issues Taurus can be associated with are possessiveness, laziness, covetousness, gross materialism, stubbornness, hoarding and greed. The guiding angel of Taurus is Hamabiel and the guiding angel of the month of May is Ambriel.

Saturday the 1st is May Day or the ancient pagan celebration of Beltane that also happens to an astrological Cross-Quarter Day. An alignment of the Sun with the Lunar Nodal Axis occurs on this first day of the month. Financial matters, credits, debits, loans, earnings, investment returns, stock market oscillations are all going to be very important to focus. Neptune, the planet of fog, mirrors, illusions, fraud, deceptions and the Jerry Maguire “Show Me the Pretty” rose-tinted glasses approach makes an inharmonious contact with this Nodal - Sun alignment. Neptune rules the oceans, petrochemical/ pharmaceutical industries, film, glamour and fashion so emerging scandals can really splash all over the tabloids. This Nodal – Sun alignment is a prelude to the upcoming Scorpio Lunar Eclipse later on May 4th. A harmonious contact also occurs on this day between Jupiter and Saturn that can symbolize healthy growth and expansion especially for businesses that have solid discipline and accounting practices.

Sunday the 2nd is the station retrograde of Chiron the Wounded/Healer of the zodiac. Corporate executives, business owners and the executive branch of government are strongly in the spotlight especially with any and all issues associated with misinformation/disinformation and cavalier behaviors that are viewed as being superficial and insensitive. Keywords associated with this Chiron station retrograde are true reconciliation involves both the mind and heart in a state of integrity and sincerity. The drawback to this reconciliation is the savage sabotage of the negatively skeptical, doubting Thomas individual. Chiron will return back to this degree position of its retrograde next January 7, 2005. These two dates may have correspondence to one another.

Also on this same Sunday Venus opposes Pluto, which is the definition/clarification period of these two planets. They were last conjunct one another last November 17, 2003. Due to Venus later retrogradation in the month of May, this opposition to Pluto will repeat again June 2, 2004 and July 24, 2004. Venus rules relationships, finances and values coupled with Pluto a planet associated with sharing, merging, bonding, intimacy, investments and power; all of these areas are of strong orientation. The negative consequences and dysfunctional behaviors are associated with jealousy, control, manipulation, betrayal that can be due to procrastination, indecision, complacency, apathy, indifference and vacillation.

The bi-monthly ecliptic shift of the Moon that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities also occurs this same Sunday. Safety and security is quite heightened with this ecliptic shift. The extremes of this shift could stimulate feelings of paranoia as well as stalking behaviors.

Finally but not least, Mars aligns itself with the upcoming degree of the Gemini New Moon of June 17, 2004 on this same Sunday. Mars introduces symbolically high energy, action, assertion, aggressiveness, boldness and “macho” attitudes. These two dates may correspond to one another.

Tuesday the 4th at 3:33pm is the annual Scorpio Full Moon that is also a Lunar Eclipse. Full Moons symbolize the letting go/surrender/completion phase of the Moon. This is an excellent time to release negative expressions of obsessive/compulsive behaviors, jealousy, envy, covetousness, control and manipulation, emotional betrayal, sabotage, deep-seated rage and anger associated with repressed past emotional issues and violation trauma to name a few. Angel Egibiel is associated with this lunation for celestial guidance and assistance. This also happens to be a Lunar Eclipse that can have a symbolic effectiveness of up to 6 months forward from this date. This Lunar Eclipse is also the middle degree of a very powerful fixed sign in astrology. Ancient astrologers strongly believed the middle degree of all fixed signs (whether Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius) have strong impact in the mundane world. Keywords associated with this Scorpio Full Moon are the demons of hate, intolerance, injustice, war, famine, disease block the path of the enlightened people with a “no exit, no passage” posture. Cold sweat trickles down the faces of these pilgrims. Return to the heart of love and dissolve in its warming waters. Ultimately these waters will in a torrent wash all the impurities away. A resplendent world awaits the abiding faithful untainted by the demons’ tauntings.

Mars later this year will align with this degree position of this Scorpio Lunar Eclipse on December 03, 2004 so these two dates can correspond with one another. Interestingly enough in ancient astrology Mars is the planetary ruler of Scorpio.

The Astro*Carto*Graphy Map for this Scorpio lunation sensitizes the following geographic areas across the United States: New Orleans Louisiana, Memphis Tennessee, St. Louis Missouri, Wausau Wisconsin, Bloomington Illinois, Detroit Michigan, Toledo, Columbus and Cincinnati Ohio, Atlanta Georgia, Tallahassee and St. Petersburg Florida, Providence Rhode Island, Nome and Juneau Alaska as well as Boston Massachusetts. Around the globe the following areas are hot spots: Havana Cuba, San Salvador El Salvador, the Dominican Island, San Jose Costa Rica, Santiago and Los Angeles Chile, Montevideo Uruguay, Brasilia and Sao Paolo Brazil, Thunder Bay, Quebec City and Montreal Canada, Athens Greece, Istanbul Turkey, Nicosia Cyprus, Cairo Egypt, Dhahran Saudi Arabia, Baku Azerbaijan, Tehran Iran, Agadez Niger, Lagos Nigeria, Kinshasa Zaire, Bangui Central African Republic, Tashkent Uzbekistan, Kabul Afghanistan, Seoul South Korea, Port Moresby Papua New Guinea, Edmonton, Richmond, Melbourne and Sydney Australia.

Later this Tuesday evening at 10:06pm is the station direct of Jupiter, the largest planet of the solar system. This bodes well for those businesses that know how to target their clientele, their markets, their products and ultimately their services. The next few weeks can be the up cycle. This can be a buoyant time period that can produce heady sensations of tremendous growth and expansion. However, there are strong factors here that point to this time period as being short-lived. Jupiter was previously at this degree position (the Pre-Shadow Point) last October 8, 2003. Here is a quote from the October AstroForecast 2003 about this degree position: “The international communities have unresolved issues dealing with the military in regards to campaigns, budgets and personnel. Keywords associated with this degree position of Jupiter are convenient and short-term gratification with what seem to be present practical results in the long run doesn’t address deeper issues. Unrealistic ideologies, narrow-minded concepts and judgmental opinions betray ulterior motives of benefits for the few at the expense of the many.”

A harmonious aspect involving Mercury with Pluto on this same Tuesday is excellent for psychological discussions, deep problem solving, investigations and pioneering research. New initiatives with international diplomacy offer a glimmer of hope in regards to tough negotiations. Bold and shrewd bargaining can appear.

Wednesday the 5th is an inharmonious aspect of the Sun with Neptune. Scandals, fraud, deception, rip-offs, bribery and plain old greed can emerge. Psychological dysfunctions associated with depression, despair, and desperation can arise due to issues of devaluation, invalidation and objectification. Some individuals can literally be caught with their hands in the money jar that helps charities.

This same Wednesday is the monthly Perigee Moon (closest approach of the Moon to Earth) that symbolizes strong intense emotions that can come easily to the conscious surface. This Perigee Moon especially intensifies the powerful Scorpio Lunar Eclipse from the previous day. In other words this Scorpio Lunar Eclipse could be called a Super Full Moon. Shipping ports, waterways, bays, lakes, rivers, bridges, ferries, tunnels and seafaring cargo containers are extremely sensitive to volatility/violence. Contagion either through natural or manmade introduction can heighten fears. Violent weather, earthquakes, seaquakes or tsunamis can also occur.

Friday the 7th at 3:45am is the entrance of fiery Mars into the sensitive water sign Cancer for an approximate 45-day journey. This is a wonderful period to emphasize do-it-yourself home improvement repairs and remodeling. Organize the family to help support an ongoing goal of domestic comfort and ease through this home improvement energy. The negative side of this Martian sojourn through Cancer is nationalistic tendencies that can explode into violent aggressions. Territorial disputes over basic needs become heated. Destruction of homes and properties through natural means or manmade erupt. A national monument becomes the target or locale for a terrorist threat or action.

Monday the 10th is a harmonious of Mercury with Venus that symbolizes discussions, negotiations and/or bargaining for peace, compromises, cooperation and collaboration with all partnerships. Financial appeasement may need to be considered especially with any inflationary tendencies. The juggling of two options especially involving siblings may arise.

Tuesday the 11th witnesses two inharmonious aspects that involve one with Mercury and Chiron and the other the Sun with Pluto. Brash off the cuff remarks can be very damaging in delicate diplomatic exchanges with the Mercury – Chiron exchange. A fiscal policy change whether national or international undergoes some adjustments that have experienced delays with exports/imports is the Sun – Pluto contact.

Friday the 14th is the second monthly ecliptic shift of the Moon that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. A tug of war appears between impulsive, restive action related to “I want my desire met now!” with a prudent, pennywise approach to conserve the future resources orientation.

Saturday the 15th is an adjustment aspect between Venus and Chiron that will repeat again May 21st and July 28th of this year due to Venus’ retrograde motion. All three of these dates may correspond to one another. Flaky, flippant and/or superficial behaviors especially within relationships can create wounds that inflict inadequacy issues. Hard to pin down financial commitments can instigate draconian measures later that will limit and restrict future options.

This same Saturday is the conjunction of Mercury with the Aries Solar Eclipse degree of April 19, 2004. This is the third alignment of Mercury with Aries Solar Eclipse with the previous dates occurring March 31st and then April 13th all due to Mercury’s retrograde motion in the month of April. All three of these dates are corresponding to one another. Mercury is symbolically synthesizing the impact of these dates with the impact of the Aries Solar Eclipse that really took to task relationships’ issues. (I don’t know about all of you out there, but my office was packed with people experiencing major relationship issues with half of all sessions with major breakdowns about these issues. You can thank this powerful Aries Solar Eclipse!) Here is a brief quote from the April AstroForecast 2004 about this solar eclipse: “This current Aries Solar Eclipse is strongly associated with the legislative branch of government. Several planets have already made previous contacts to this degree of the Aries Solar Eclipse and they are the following: Mars on February 2, 2004, Venus on March 5, 2004 and Mercury on March 31, 2004, April 13, 2004 and coming up next May 15, 2004. Keywords for this Aries lunation are a provincial mindset is cracked open to reveal maggots that are delightfully playing in games of empty-headedness and gullibility. Where did we as a society go off course? Are we so caught up with “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” trivia that debases our depth of soul and breadth of intelligence? A day of reckoning is before us all.”

Sunday the 16th at 1:54am is the entrance of Mercury into the sign of earthy Taurus for an approximate 3-week journey. Dramatic experiences with financial affairs, banking, stock markets, commodities and all tangible assets will be in the crosshairs of this Mercury journey in this fixed earth sign. All forms of debt could go haywire. Taurus symbolizes conservative fiscal policy; the question is are we properly informed to make decisions that will emphasize biting the bullet? All communications, all commercial enterprises and markets/trades take on strong profit orientations. Practical solutions can be applied with the toughest of problems.

Monday the 17th at 7:13am is the station retrograde of Neptune until its direct station in late October 2004. Neptune symbolizes the collective ideals of society, visionary experiences and as the Sacred Cosmic Heart of the zodiac encapsulates heartfelt spirituality through unconditional love and unconditional forgiveness. This retrograde motion of Neptune over the next few months emphasizes reanalysis, reevaluation and reassessment of international diplomacy, cooperation, legal affairs, coalitions and causes. The judicial branch of government will be under intense scrutiny especially if there is an iota of impropriety, unscrupulous, unethical and unprincipled behaviors, as well as scandals. Once Neptune is direct in motion post late October this planet will rendezvous again with this degree position next February 11, 2005. These two dates may correspond with one another. Keywords associated with this Neptune retrograde are fierce conflicting ideologies emerge with caustic rhetoric that challenges confident leadership. Is there any room for true community consensus? Are we becoming so polarized that exclusions become deadly exterminations?

The sign of Gemini is emphasized with this retrogradation so all communications are focused whether through breakthroughs or breakdowns. Duality, superficiality, issues of boredom, distraction, scatteredness as well as mental jitteriness can arise through this reevaluation, reanalysis and reassessment period of Venus. Financial issues to address would be the proverbial “the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing” as well as the “rob Peter to pay Paul” syndrome come to mind. Subterfuge, betrayal, intrigue, espionage, corruption and manipulation can also be brought into the picture especially involving the press, the executive branch of government as well as corporations. Keywords associated with this retrograde of Venus are remarkable talents, skill and genius that have been in deep freeze begin to thaw for immediate use and application. Here is a quote from the April AstroForecast 2004 about this degree position: “Issues of paranoia, secrecy, and subterfuge as well as behind closed doors machinations and manipulations bubble up to the surface especially involving investigative reporters and commission hearings. Keywords associated with this retrograde Mercury station are a weariness with the state of worldly affairs takes hold. A reminiscence of the yesteryear of far less complexity and greater simplicity appeals to the weary soul. The dullness of life settles into the marrow of twilight thought.”

Mars also on this Monday is aligned with the station direct degree of Saturn from last March 7, 2004. Here is a quote from the March AstroForecast 2004 about this degree position: “This degree position of Saturn on this March date was last seen July 23, 2003 so here is a quote from the July AstroForecast 2003 that sheds some light: “Keywords associated with this degree position of Saturn are a phoenix-like resurrection of nationhood meets any and all threats head on. Issues to be addressed will be superficiality, duplicity, lying, cheating, trickery, two-facedness, scatteredness, boredom and fraud. The guiding angel of Gemini is Ambriel.

Friday the 21st several celestial aspects occur. The first aspect that occurs is one between Venus and Chiron that was previously mentioned for the 15th of May; please refer to that date previously written in this month’s AstroForecast. A harmonious aspect between Mercury and Uranus is excellent for brainstorming, lightning-like mental speed and agility, perfect planning with priorities, innovative and inventive thinking as well as desirable social interchanges that stimulate intellectual discourse. Mars and Jupiter also on this Friday are in a harmonious contact with one another that symbolizes the gung-ho attitude with the can-do attitude for projects that require action, growth and expansion.

This same Friday is the Apogee Moon (farthest distance of the Moon to Earth) that symbolizes the ability to cultivate objective and impartial emotions/feelings. Careful consideration and the weighing of thoughtfulness with action consequences are paramount. Courtesy, diplomacy, tact and gracefulness in the line of fire are what may save the day.

Sunday the 23rd is a harmonious aspect between Mercury and Jupiter that is wonderful for thorough detailed studies with the ability to also hold a panoramic view of financial goals and budgets. There are certain opportunities for investors especially with bargain stock purchases. Foreign currencies and commodities may also offer choice values for investors. Quick and judicious executions must be made with these financial investments.

Monday the 24th is the alignment of Mercury with the Lunar Nodal Axis. On the first of May was the alignment of the Sun with the Nodes. Mercury’s alignment is strongly oriented to national security as well as banking security. Harbors, ports, waterways, lake, rivers and oceans are also brought in as security concerns.

This same Monday is the opposition of Pluto to the United States Sibly Chart’s birth Mars position. These are two of the most volatile and violent planets in astrology. A previous opposition occurred on January 27, 2004 and later when Pluto is in direct motion a third alignment will occur on November 25, 2004. This is the first time in US history that Pluto has this opposition to its birth Mars as the United States was not in existence as a sovereign nation 248 years ago. This is a crucible period for the United States. Pluto symbolizes sharing power and Mars symbolizes assertion of force. When the call to sharing power is rebuked through Pluto this planet harnesses destruction of those individuals that would abuse power. This is literally force confronts power. Pluto’s laser-like focus of the destruction of those who would abuse power smashes whatever force is mustered against it. Mars also symbolizes aggression and Pluto terrorism therefore there are dangerous undercurrents of terrorism and fanatical aggression afoot. Journalists, media, broadcasting stations, libraries, primary schools, conventions, artisan enclaves and internet sites can be targets of any acts of violence and/or terrorism, kidnappings, hostage taking and slayings. Our greatest resources of power to be shared are through prayer communities utilizing our collective consciousness to diffuse the more violent aspects of this Pluto – Mars opposition.

Tuesday the 25th witnesses harmonious contact involving Mercury, Mars and Saturn all three at a time. Mars and Saturn together symbolize harnessing physical energy and personal will power for the Enrichment of self-discipline, ambitious drives for success and career advancement. Mercury and Saturn symbolize mental discipline, meticulous detail with analysis and impeccable logic and reason. Mercury and Mars symbolize assertive self-defense and self-protection through lively discussions and debate.

Thursday the 27th is an inharmonious aspect of the Sun with Uranus that can symbolize weirdness, bizarreness, chaos, disruption and topsy-turvy situations with life. Expect the unexpected. Explosions, freaky electrical accidents, lightning strikes, tornados, rail and air accidents as well as boating mishaps can occur.

Saturday the 29th is the ecliptic shift of the Moon that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. Some individuals experience alienation as well as cruelty through breakdowns in communications. An awkward situation maybe experienced with a partner desiring greater freedom and independence.

Sunday the 30th is an inharmonious contact of the Sun with Jupiter that could witness any individual that is excessive, overindulgent, negatively judgmental, arrogant, hypocritical and pulling double standards. Overboard tendencies are to be tempered. Overconfidence, over promising what cannot be delivered as well overly boastful behaviors can be a plague.

Monday the 31st witnesses two adjustment aspects between Mars and Neptune as well as Mercury with Pluto. Safety involving waterways, harbors, ports, bridges, oceans, lakes and rivers can be delayed at a great price much later down the road. The intelligence community is going over stringent scrutiny and investigation that may bring resolutions with previous gaps.
