Astrocast - Brief for March 2012
by Gwynne Mayer
An in depth Astrocast was put out for January, February and March earlier.
March and the beginning of Spring are marching toward us with great gusto and a few nips and twists along the way. The signs that seem to be resonating to these massive inner changes and moods affecting us all are Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius. Aries and Libra are going through their own struggles with the energies that remind us of 'as above, so below'. Other signs, the rest of the zodiac, are affected in so far as those who have stelliums or a collage of the above signs in their natal and/or progressed charts. This is not to say that the other signs not mentioned are exempt as we are still affected by house positions and aspects to planets in our charts. Some highlights for this month are generalizations and situations to watch for. I am a double Leo with four planets in Virgo in the 1st house so as a Leo; I am affected greatly in first house matters. This is an example of other signs. If you don't know your chart, it might be wise to have a good qualified astrologer do it for you so you can see for yourself how you are affected.
Full Moon in Virgo occurs on March 8th giving us a surge of Virgo type situations due to the fact that Mars is also retrograde in Virgo, so there may be some intense emotional experiences that most Virgo/Pisces axis might feel. It would be a good time to rest, read a good book, and settle your mind with more meditation and less white noise. Full Moons are meant to finish existing projects, close on deals that have been recently made and let go of situations that have not served you well. The New Moon in Aries on the 22nd of March will bring about some major changes in the Aries/Libra axis due to the conjunction of Uranus which is also in the early degrees of Aries. Changes that you might not have counted on and are being forced to make room for are occurring in rapid succession, so find a discipline which will calm you during these processes.
Neptune's entrance into Pisces the end of February has given a surge of creativity and exaggerated dream life to all of us, including an imagination gone 'wild'. Neptune is a lovely planet of wisdom, creativity, imagination and illusion. The down side of this is possibly around health issues that might call for several expert opinions before trying to be exact as to the manifestation of any one disorder. Be wary of worrying unnecessarily about your health, for both Virgo and Pisces as this will only add stress to what can be a beautiful transit of Neptune. Try to find a getaway, a natural diet and a way of showing your creativity to the world.
Mars remains retrograde in Virgo until the 15th of April and is causing stress in the inner worlds of those who have planets in Virgo in their charts. Handling the energy of Mars retrograde can seem like a long tortuous ride on a roller coaster emotionally, however you will learn a lot by paying attention to the twists and turns along the way. All is valuable in the field of learning. I am sure for some this is not such great news, however we have to find something positive don't we? Virgos and Pisces are reacting strongly to this retrograde, so do something that sets your mind at rest, even if temporary, like the movies, theater, books....any dramas that can be observed rather than 'lived'.
Mercury goes retrograde in Aries (conjunct Uranus) March 12th through April 3rd and will have all of us saying things we don't mean and being quite impulsive about it all, but as usual, it only lasts for several weeks and then, things will be back to some normality. This is an interesting retrograde while we are doing our income taxes so you might want to do this earlier or later but definitely before the 15th of April. There will be a few snafus along the way for sure.
Saturn remains retrograde with its last visit to Libra through March and April. So those born in the middle of October to about the 21st will be feeling the ending of this cycle strongly. Have you learned your lessons yet? Are disciplines in place? How are you handling your dietary needs which are affecting your health? Aries has watched their partnerships falter with this, but the good news is that new commitments and positive lessons have been learned.
Stay tuned for next month where we will have a detailed April, May and June forecast. Always remember that even if you are another sign, you have other planets in these signs I have mentioned so to some degree more or less, they apply to 'you'. Have a great Spring Break!
