AstroForecast February 2004

by Lance Rodriguez

All times Central Time Zone

Aquarius is the sign the Sun is transiting as we begin the month of February. The angel for the month of February is Varchiel. The angel associated with Aquarius is Gambiel. The sign of the Water Bearer is associated with community, humanitarianism, socialization, egalitarianism, innovation, experimentation, teamwork, uniqueness, technology, engineering, healthy emotional detachment and friendship to name a few. Negative expressions of Aquarius include rebelliousness, anarchy, cruelty, perversion, change for change sake, shocking and destabilizing behaviors, lack of emotional commitment, and extreme detached aloofness.

Sunday the 1st several harmonious contacts are made to Chiron, the Wounded Healer of astrology. First Mercury makes a conjunction with Chiron that symbolizes the “seeding” period of these two heavenly bodies. They will oppose one another July 1, 2004 so these two dates may have much in common with one another. This conjunction can symbolize the ability to open new healthy lines of communications that bridge gaps involving inadequacies, pessimism, narrow-mindedness, and worry between siblings, co-workers and teenagers. Venus makes a harmonious contact with Chiron that can symbolize efforts made to bring healthy compromise and/or mediation associated with financial matters, relationships and values can bear healthy rewards later. An inharmonious aspect between Venus and Pluto can witness psychological issues of distrust, suspicion, beguilement, jealousy, manipulation and negative secrecy involving partners and financial excesses.

Monday the 2nd is the annual conjunction of the Sun with Neptune that symbolizes the “seeding” period of these two planets. They will oppose one another August 5, 2004 and thus bring to full consciousness the “seeding” energies they infuse one another on this February date. Strong associations with the apparition of the Virgin Mary can be experienced with this celestial alignment. The celestial spiritual mothers of all religions and faiths such as the Quan Yin, the Shekinah, the Sophia, etc., are also associated. Marian phenomena and movements are truly notable worldwide. Children can be the protagonists of these sightings. Eschatological adherents proclaim the Second Coming of Christ. This day encourages creative undertakings that harvest healthy daydreaming, inspirational imagination and escape from the daily grind to more transcendent and otherworldly realms.

This same Monday Mars aligns with the degree position of the Aries Solar Eclipse of April 19, 2004. Mars is the natural ruler of Aries so these two dates maybe potently interlinked with one another. Mars rules assertiveness, initiative, motivation and action so whatever happens on this date maybe a prelude to the Aries Solar Eclipse 2004.

This day is also Imbolc (Groundhog’s Day), an ancient pagan ritual as well as an astrological Cross-Quarter Day that is considered potent.

Tuesday the 3rd at 4:04am is the entrance of fiery Mars into earthy Taurus for approximately the next 45-day period. The arousal of sensual desires and passionate earthly delights will be ignited. Whatever initiatives were begun over the last 45-days when Mars was in Aries will now be consolidated and given concrete form. This is a follow-up time period to put into action personal resources and finances to gain productive profitability. William James made an appropriate quote that plugs into this earthy action energy “The great use of a life is to spend it for something that outlasts it”. The drawback to this astrological passage of Mars in Taurus is a childish temperamentality of possessiveness that reflects the “It’s MINE!” syndrome. Be patient and considerate of other individuals’ “territoriality”.

Thursday the 5th Venus in Pisces reaches its degree position of exaltation. A planet in exaltation symbolizes that planet’s highest frequency and vibration. Venus, the planet of love, peace and harmony now vibrates to the highest frequency of Pisces’ vision of universal love, infinite compassion, divine forgiveness and all-encompassing redemption. This is an excellent day for meditation with the above themes.

This same Thursday is the inharmonious alignment of the Sun with the Lunar Nodes. The Nodes in ancient astrology had strong connotations of “fate and destiny” and modern astrology associates them with future directions and how the past can influence the present. This Nodal alignment symbolizes what is the will of the people and their priorities in regards to national security and national resources with the executive branch of government’s administration and policies especially linked to a secretive and obfuscated past?

Friday the 6th at 2:47am is the annual Leo Full Moon that symbolizes the release/surrender/completion phase of the Moon over the next two weeks. The following negative behaviors can be released with this lunation: arrogance, false vanity and pride, power issues involving control with the “I-have-you-under-my-thumb syndrome”, authoritarianism, melodrama and temperamental attitudes. Angel Neciel is associated with this lunation. The conservation of financial resources is pitted against the greed and avarice of vested interests. Bribes, extortion, abductions and terrorism can also manifest. The Astro*Carto*Graphy Map of this Leo lunation sensitizes the following geographic areas: in the United States San Antonio Texas, Detroit Michigan, Cincinnati and Toledo Ohio. Across the globe the following areas are sensitized: Mexico City and the Yucatan Mexico, Caracas Venezuela, Montevideo Uruguay, Sao Paolo and Brasilia Brazil, Dublin and Cork Ireland, Madrid and Seville Spain, Toulouse and Limoges France, Moscow Russia, Bamako Mali, Madagascar, Kuwait City Kuwait, Tehran Iran, Bhopal and Hyderabad India, North and South Korea especially Seoul, New Guinea, Edmonton, Richmond, Brisbane and Sydney Australia as well as New Zealand. Keywords associated with this Leo Full Moon are all illusions are dissolved so that the spirit of the law triumphs over the letter of the law. Pretenses of power and control are shattered and exposed for the falseness they are. Grandstanding will no longer suffice, as meaningful and harmonious dialogue is necessary. Interestingly enough several of the inner planets will align with this Leo lunation later in the year. Mercury makes its alignment on July 14, 2004, Mars on July 23, 2004 and Venus on September 22, 2004 so all these dates may correspond to one another.

This same Friday Mars has a harmonious aspect with Uranus that can symbolize exciting action, exhilarating passion, bold engineering attempts as well as rapidly accelerating innovations. Kinky sex can also emerge. Novel approaches can be applied in regards to agricultural conservation and water preservation.

Friday the 6th at 10:20pm is the entrance of fleet-footed Mercury into the sign of egalitarian Aquarius for the following 2-week period. Some modern astrologers consider Mercury in Aquarius as its sign of exaltation. Advances in science, technology and engineering are suitable during this Mercury passage. Aquarius is a sign of intuition through the realms of knowledge so any bursts of insight and future visions that one can experience eventually can become a reality. Teenagers can also become more rebellious than usual and will definitely test boundaries that apparently challenge their innate sense of freedom and independence. Aquarius symbolizes emotional detachment, whether positive or negative, therefore dialogue that fosters impartiality and objectivity is the key to successful communications.

Sunday the 8th at 10:20am is the entrance of lovely Venus into the fiery sign of Aries for the following 28-day period. Venus is the planet symbolic of relationships, finances and values. This journey of Venus in Aries represents strong desires to bring freshness and newness to the above-mentioned areas of life. “Men voluntarily believe in what they desire” Julius Caesar. Old hat will no longer suffice. Aries symbolizes assertive force and aggressive action to clear out the old so the new can burst forth. Aries is also representative of pent up frustrations, annoyances and aggravations that require a healthy outlet. Aries can also stir conflicts and at its extreme can tend towards violence or violations. Competitive individuals or situations can arise whether positive or negative. Ego issues can also be problematic. Venus thus harkens all individuals to work with compromise, mediation and fairness with the above issues.

Venus interestingly enough on this Sunday is aligned with degree position of the upcoming Aries New Moon of March 20, 2004 so these two dates may have much in common with one another.

Monday the 9th is an inharmonious aspect between Mercury and Mars that can represent heated discussions, selfish arguments, hasty negotiations and cross-purpose priorities. Personal possessions, intellectual property, study/work areas and farm animals can be the bones of contention in this OK Corral shoot-out. Siblings, co-workers, teenagers and salesmen can be the individuals involved with this celestial disharmony.

This same Monday is the ecliptic shift of Venus that is symbolic of shifts involving partners, financial markets and values. The Moon also has an ecliptic shift that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. Emotional shifts that can arise will be associated with issues involving isolation, narrow-mindedness, melancholy, rage and betrayal.

Tuesday the 10th is a harmonious contact between the Sun and Pluto that is excellent for efforts implemented to achieve self-empowerment, self-renewal and self-regeneration after dealing with crises of immense complexity. Investigations and research reveal awesome information for technological analysis and applications. International cooperation can foment coalition building with great results.

This same Tuesday Jupiter aligns itself with the degree position of the Virgo Full Moon of March 6, 2004. Previously on November 27, 2004 Jupiter also made an alignment with this upcoming full moon. Here is a quote from the November AstroForecast 2003 about this alignment: “Military intelligence, cost effectiveness and scandals involving shady partnerships have an impact on a national/international scale. Hypocrisy, double standards, hypercriticism, fraud, hush funds and scathing verbal attacks are other forms of fallout with this alignment”. The last alignment of Jupiter, due to its retrogradation, will occur on July 21, 2004.

Friday the 13th witnesses a harmonious contact of Mars with Saturn. Motivation and discipline combine effectively to render success with any dedicated activity. The courage for duty and persistence in solitude are called. The reliance on inner strength combats negative blockages.

Saturday the 14th, Valentine’s Day, is an inharmonious aspect between Venus and Saturn. Thankfully this aspect occurs early in the wee hours of the morning. If there are any dysfunctional behaviors exhibited more than likely there will be feelings of partners dissatisfied with expressions of love and one partner suffers silently. Disappointment can arise with the level of entertainment being experienced. If only one can appreciate that simplicity is beauty in and of itself a happy medium can be struck.

Sunday the 15th is the annual conjunction of Mercury with Neptune symbolizing the logical, rational mind making contact with the Divine and spiritual non-reality. This is a “seeding” period involving the planet of day-to-day consciousness with the planet of the collective unconscious. New trends and fads can emerge with technology, film, art, spirituality, fashion and glamour. Mercury opposes Neptune on July 13, 2004; that will be the time period to witness what will culminate and be fully illuminated from the reservoirs of the collective unconscious. This date can be important especially involving contracts and signatures, as details can be a little too fuzzy. It is best to postpone a signature until 3 days later or if a signature is crucial these days go over the document with a fine toothcomb.

Monday the 16th is the monthly Perigee Moon (closest approach of the Moon to Earth) that symbolizes strong intense emotions that can come easily to the conscious surface. Children dealing with elderly mothers experience frustration about important decisions concerning care and safety issues. A sense of limitations and restrictions applies the proverbial squeeze on financial resources.

This same Monday is the inharmonious alignment of Mercury with the Lunar Nodes. A legislator can emerge with new, ingenious solutions and strategies in regards to military projects and peaceful compromises. What has been a national debate about vested interests now comes before a negotiating table. Adjustments made with priorities and plans surrounding budgets can be ironed out.

Thursday the 19th at 1:50am is the ingress of the majestic Sun into the compassionate sign of Pisces for its annual 30-day journey in the sign of the Fish. Pisces seeks to surrender negative worldly attachments so that it may embrace sublime unity, integration and oneness with the supreme godhead. Compassion, understanding, sensitivity, artistic inclinations, spirituality, and empathy are some of the harmonious attributes of this sign. Disillusionment, discouragement, martyrdom, addictions, over-idealization, confusion and hysteria are some of the inharmonious behaviors of Pisces. The angel of Pisces is Varchiel.

Friday the 20th at 3:18am is the annual New Moon in Pisces that symbolizes the Moon’s new beginnings/new initiatives phase in her celestial cycle around our Earth. The most tender, the most compassionate and the most surrendering yet immensely forgiving of the astrological water signs, Pisces ultimately is symbolized by two fish, each one going in opposite direction of the other, thus perpetually in motion, spiraling in emotional agitation and yet excitation. The idealism of Pisces is enticingly filled with illusions, some emotional and others beyond reality. Pisces replenishes us in the department of lost emotions and yearned forgiving and healing for deep within our innermost selves we all recognize the Cosmic Sacred Heart that this planet’s astrological ruler Neptune symbolizes ultimately. That is the rich fabric that all of humanity claims as emotional patrimony. Themes of integration, unity, spiritual retreat and pilgrimage, philanthropy, inspiration, compassion, dream casting and dream weaving, artistic inclinations, volunteerism and selflessness are tied to this New Moon. Angel Tagriel is at service for invocation for any assistance with this Pisces New Moon. Aquamarine and amethyst are powerful combinations for this lunation. Interestingly enough Uranus was conjunct the degree position of this Pisces New Moon earlier January 22nd of this year. These two dates may correspond with one another. This is also one of the most positive and harmonious New Moons of the year 2004 so make the most of it in regards to themes associated with this lunation. The A*C*G Map for this lunation sensitizes the following geographic areas: in the United States all of Hawaii, Juneau Alaska, Seattle Washington, Sacramento and San Francisco California, Fort Collins Colorado, Cheyenne Wyoming, Rapid City South Dakota, Little Rock Arkansas, Erie Pennsylvania, and Buffalo New York. Worldwide the following areas are sensitized: Toronto and Vancouver Canada, Veracruz Mexico, Tegucigalpa Honduras, La Paz Bolivia, Montevideo Uruguay, Brasilia and Belem Brazil, Belfast Northern Ireland, Inverness and Edinburgh Scotland, Lincoln and Rochester England, Limoges, Marseille and Paris France, Bucharest Romania, Copenhagen Denmark, St. Petersburg and Moscow Russia, Vilnius Lithuania, Kiev Ukraine, Minsk Belorussia, Tbilisi Georgia, Baku Azerbaijan, Ashkhabad Turkmenistan, Tehran Iran, Baghdad Iraq, Jerusalem Israel, San’a Yemen, Djibouti Djibouti, N’djamena Chad, Gabarone Botswana, Pretoria and Johannesburg South Africa, Mogadishu Somalia, Madagascar, Karachi Pakistan, Tashkent Uzbekistan, Bombay India, Ulan Bator Mongolia, Lanzhou China, Seoul South Korea, Sapporo Japan, Manila the Philippines, Indonesia, Borneo, New Guinea, Melbourne, Sydney and Tasmania Australia. Keywords associated for this Pisces lunation are it is time to have the courage to face down uncertain risks and gambles that may not have profitable rewards. As the world, individuals or situations shape shift before one’s eyes it may be time to become the master of disguises. Fluid and yet formative, feelings and intuition grasp the true nature of what is going on and going down. When all momentum and motion stop the proper assessment will reveal a feasible solution.

This same Friday also witnesses a couple of harmonious celestial aspects. First, Venus and Neptune interact with one another to bring about boldness with the initiation of long-held dreams and wishes of self-improvement that position oneself better in social intercourse. Prayers for peace, visualization of ideals and affirmations for betterment produce future results. Second, Mercury and Pluto are harmonious as well that symbolizes the ability to make solid plans that involve causes, coalition building and priorities that are deep, profound and enormously sustainable over a long-term period.

Saturday the 21st is an adjustment aspect involving Venus and Jupiter that symbolizes care and caution needs to be taken in regards to impulse buying versus adhering to a healthy budget. Selfish tendencies collide with rakish criticism. The annual conjunction of the Sun with Uranus occurs on this same day that symbolizes new insights to the applications of futuristic visions are strong. This conjunction is symbolic of how any individual can identify with a consciousness or awareness of true freedom and liberation. Old ruts, routines and monotony implode so new, more vibrant expressions take hold so the individual experiences a greater sense of uniqueness and originality. Stodgier individuals recoil in shock or surprise to these new energies. A paradoxical quote by Erich Fromm describes well this conjunction: “Any act of disobedience, as any act of freedom, is the beginning of reason”. This is the “seeding” period of these two planets and their opposition to one another occurs August 27, 2004 so the full consciousness and unfoldment of this February date will correspond to the August date.

Sunday the 22nd is the Post-Shadow Point of Uranus, which is the degree position that Uranus went retrograde last June 7, 2003, and now in February Uranus has reached this same degree position due to forward direct motion. Here is a brief quote from the June AstroForecast 2003 about this degree position: “Keywords associated with this Uranus degree position are have we as a collective divested ourselves of any responsibility to future generations through our present greed and immediate material gratification? A willy-nilly search begins for what are fragmented pieces of our shattered collective soul. Some individuals may pose the question of “why me?” in regards to satisfying and paying off karmic debt. It is now the collective that will ask the same question except it is the collective soul asking that all debts be paid and satisfied in regards to future generations”.

This same Sunday is the ecliptic shift of the Moon that symbolizes that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. Emotional shifts that occur would stimulate emotional impatience with overly cautious approaches in the matters of love. Emotional fears cause knee-jerk reactions that cause isolation.

Monday the 23rd is the Pre-Shadow Point of Uranus, which is the degree position Uranus will hold on November 11, 2004 when it turns station direct then. These two dates may have much in common with one another. Great advances and discoveries involving technology, engineering and biomedical research are likely. Inventive individuals have a strong can-do attitude and are very sharing with others. Keywords associated with this Pre-Shadow Point of Uranus are soulful self-penetration into inner realms of the unconscious and superconscious that produce shattering realizations that the lost soul is found and harnessed so the future so full of potential emerges. The noble side of humanity comes to the aid of the lost soul of the world. The loving heart of humanity is ready to implement peace, tranquility, serenity and balance to the fabric of the world.

Tuesday the 24th is a very Martial day (in ancient astrology Mars is the natural ruler of Tuesdays). First Mars has an inharmonious aspect with Neptune that symbolizes material sacrifices that the community must endure for the sake of future generations. Selfish individuals play out the martyr/victim syndrome without success. If you loan money to someone you may as well consider it a donation, as the likelihood of repayment is dim. Hospital or prison fires can occur. Mars also makes a conjunction with the North Node that symbolizes persistence in meetings to actively pursue projects that benefit the individual. Treaties maybe broken due to warlike acts. International military assistance can support keeping the peace and maintaining law and order in troubled areas around the world. The next day, Wednesday, the Moon occults Mars, which is like an eclipse so this Martial energy is very prominent and very active, perhaps even fateful.

Wednesday the 25th at 6:58am is the annual ingress of Mercury into the sign of Pisces for the next 14-day period. This is an excellent period for meditation, visualization, and planning in regards to long-held dreams and personal visions for one’s future. The logic and reason that Mercury is used to can be challenged with swirling emotions, passions and vagaries that prompt temporary confusion, uncertainty or tentativeness.

This same Wednesday is a harmonious contact between the Sun and Saturn that is excellent for the identification and implementation of solid creativity, healthy self-adequacy, enhanced authoritativeness, earned respect and discipline with leadership. Healthy checks and balances can also be identified.

Thursday the 26th is a harmonious contact of Mars with Jupiter. In ancient astrology this planetary harmony of two fiery planets indicated “fortunate action” that can symbolize action taken that could bear fortunate consequences. Mars, a can-do attitude planet with Jupiter, a gung-ho planet can take some individuals very far with material goals and financial projects. Caution must be taken in regards to overreaching behaviors as well as overly assertiveness.

This same Thursday is the opposition of Venus to the Solar Eclipse in Libra of October 13, 2004 so these dates can link to one another. Venus is the natural ruler of Libra so here is the ability to bring clarification and definition to interrelationship dynamics with this February date. Emphases will be centered on personal autonomy and personal spontaneity.

Friday the 27th is the conjunction of Mercury with Uranus that is excellent for innovative planning with any charitable organizations. Intuitive foresight is strong as well as imaginative thinking produces breakthroughs that are filled with genius. Inspired communications and uplifting messages occur.

This same Friday is a harmonious contact of Venus with Pluto that is very good for spontaneous fun and frolic with instances of deep commitment and prolonged pleasure involving partners. Newfound values that complement investments for the future open up. Tolerant attitudes foster cooperation and appreciation.

Saturday the 28th is a day of mixed astrological aspects. Mercury and Saturn exchange harmony with one another that promotes mental discipline, patience with any and all plans that require time, and visionary realism. Venus and Chiron are inharmonious with one another on this day that can symbolize woundedness in partnerships especially with impatient partners that are frustrated with widening gaps of emotional distance. Procrastinating partners tend to isolate themselves in general. Finally there is the Apogee Moon (farthest distance of the Moon to Earth) that symbolizes the ability to cultivate objective and impartial emotions/feelings. Prayers for Mother Earth, her inhabitants and her well being are well received and given.

"The planets show again and again all the phenomena which God desired to be seen from earth."
