Brainstorming ideas, ad hoc committee work, sudden insights that can help planning symbolize the harmonious contact between Mercury and Uranus on Thursday the 5th. Mass media or mass consciousness can be effective on a global level. The following day Friday the 6th is the opposition of Mercury with Saturn that emphasizes the need for definition and clarification involving organization, hierarchy and discipline with plans. Earlier in July 2002 was the conjunction of Mercury with Saturn and here is a brief quote from the July AstroForecast that can help in understanding this celestial dynamic: “The conjunction of Mercury with Saturn can symbolize serious thought, structuring and applying well thought out plans that have a strong, practical and realistic tone. The more negative side of restricted, limiting and draconian thoughts that exert too much control and authoritarianism is the downside of this alignment. “The mind’s direction is more important than his progress” Joseph Joubert.

Mercury enters the sign of practical and career-oriented Capricorn on Sunday the 8th at 2:21pm for an extended stay in this sign due to its retrograde motion that occurs in January 2003. While in this sign Mercury orients to mental discipline that can be acquired readily and late-night ponderings that have practical outcomes. The second weekend of December is quite active astrologically. Mercury, Venus and Mars have contacts with Chiron, the zodiac’s Wounded/Healer that can lead to bridging communicative gaps due to new perspectives. Old relationship wounds can be soothed through new cooperative efforts and effective compromises. Physical injuries that require rehabilitative therapy can progress more rapidly than normal. “To be able to triumph, it has always been indispensable to pass through the path of sacrifice” Simon Bolívar. Any old mental soundtracks that insist on keeping the ego locked up in the martyr/victim syndrome cause disharmony in relationships. Codependent and co-addictive behaviors undermine and sabotage what little remains of what once was a vibrant and healthy relationship.

Due to retrogradation December 16, 2002 will be another harmonious aspect between Saturn and Uranus and then through direct motion June 24, 2003 will be the final harmonious contact of these two planets. Technology stocks in general can begin to witness improvement. Progress and consolidation in these fields will fare very well especially around these dates.”

Flexibility and adaptability can be beautifully combined with resiliency and practicality. “Life is like throwing dice: if they don’t turn up as you hoped, you have to make the most of how they did” Terence.” This Solar aspect is joined with a harmonious contact with Uranus that can add fresh insights to novel applications and approaches to old problems.

A partial quote from the October 2002 AstroForecast will further illuminate other areas of interest: “Investigations, detective sleuthing, espionage and thorough research will uncover stagnant, rotten and/or corrupt behaviors, individuals or situations.
