The month of November begins with the Sun transiting the mysterious, enigmatic sign of Scorpio. Here is my take on this year’s national election. Kerry has the strongest chart astrologically speaking. The youth vote and women will definitely have an impact on these elections. Either way, whoever is the winner, there are greater concerns later down the road. The polarization of the electorate if it continues to be rancorous, poisoning and the winner take all or nothing approach can dangerously lead this nation down the path to civil war, whether politically or realistically. It is time to be levelheaded and mature in thinking as to how to resolve such large issues facing this nation. Civil discourse must replace testosterone-filled shouting matches (normal adolescent cable TV news shows that are more oriented to “governtainment”). Healthy compromise must replace Darwinian political survival of the fittest mentality. We are a creative and inventive nation and deserve better than the “schlock and gnaw” the media and the political pundits generate.

That is why the Mercury – Saturn harmonious aspect of sober thinking is so important for all of us on this Election Day. I will admit that the Moon in Cancer on this day is quite favorable to President Bush in that he is a Sun sign Cancer. Saturn is also in Cancer with October’s recent second Saturn Return for President Bush. If President Bush is the victor a strong orientation to act on and initiate true cooperation, compromise and collaboration especially with foreign coalitions will be important, as Mars is quite prominent in his birth chart on this Election Day. May We as a nation, get the best election victor on this day. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln “Do you pray for God to be on our side?” and his reply was “I pray that we are on God’s side”.
