The month of October is the first entire month of the fall season beginning with the Sun transiting the cardinal air sign of Libra.  The sign of the scales is symbolic of all one-to-one relationships, balance, peace, harmony, compromise, fairness, justice, equal give-and-take, diplomacy and grace to name a few of the positive attributes.  Negative expressions of Libra include procrastination, indecision, passivity, complacency, non-committal behaviors, apathy, indifference, vacillation and laziness.  The ruling angel of Libra is archangel Uriel and the angel of October is Barakiel.

Saturday the 1st at 5:04pm is the retrograde station of Mars and the red planet will remain retrograde until early December 2005.  Many things have to be considered with the retrogradation of Mars especially the signs of Aries as well as Scorpio.  Mars goes retrograde in the sign of Taurus (the natural opposite sign of Scorpio) so this earth sign will be highly affected by this retrograde as well as the signs of Leo and Aquarius can also be affected.  In mundane astrology if any nation launches a war offensive during a Mars retrograde reversals can occur with the likelihood of defeat of some sort.  Mars rules surgeries so elective surgeries are best postponed until Mars goes direct on December 9, 2005.  On a personal level it is best to review, reanalyze, reassess and reevaluate what has caused anger, frustration, irritation, annoyance, aggravation and/or violation.  This Mars retrograde is also excellent for the review and reanalysis of self-motivation, ego conflict and personal projects that are due a makeover.

Saturday the 22nd is the annual conjunction of the Sun with Jupiter.  Here is the “seeding” time period of these two planets with one another.  These two planets will oppose one another next May 4, 2006 so what may planted on this October date perhaps will be harvested on that May date next year.  This October conjunction of the two largest objects of our solar system symbolizes how to identify on the macro level personal/collective aspirations for growth, expansion, opportunity, progress, advancement as well as optimism.  Creativity, romance, fun, as well as speculation are amplified.  Once more peace, balance, harmony as well as global cooperation can be positively emphasized.
